We had a fun day! We wrote in our journals about what was in our pocket! We had to guess what was in people's pockets. Some people brought buttons, quarters, and a teddy bear. We did daily 4. I worked on word work and work on writing. My story was about me and when I went to the park. We had snack and playtime. We made a bear with a pattern tie! No lunch tomorrow because it's early dismissal (11:35). Bring your little books and library books. We were beary busy!

We love the story of Corduroy and his friend Lisa, his purple pocket with the note in it. From: Piper

It was fun helping out in class today, because everyone was so excited about what was in their pockets! You all did a great job writing the clues in your journals. I was so impressed with how you started sentences with capital letters and ended them with periods. Awesome! You definitely piqued my curiosity about the items in your pockets. I wish I could've stayed to guess what each one was! Have a fun morning Friday and enjoy your day off on Monday!

Hey friends, it sounds like the "pocket day" was a great success. Emily enjoyed telling me about it.
Have fun on your early release day - and enjoy the long weekend with your families. Maybe some of you would be interested in making valentine snowflake garlands with your parents over the weekend. You could send them to grandparents or aunts and uncles for fun! You use coffee filters and colored paper to make them. Emily and I have made them together before:

Enjoy!
